Hi, I’m Claudia and I started Glam Pods because I wanted to make wearing my Omnipod feel a bit more like me.

I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for my whole life, and my pod is something that’s just part of my everyday life. It helps me so much, but I always felt like it looked quite clinical and didn’t really match my style or personality. I remember thinking that I wished I could make it look a bit nicer or something that I actually liked seeing on me every day.

That’s really where the idea for Glam Pods came from. At first, it was just me trying to make my own pod feel a bit better to wear. I started experimenting with different designs, colours, and little sparkly details just to see what I liked. I wasn’t thinking of it as a business at the beginning at all, just something personal for myself.

But after a while, I realised how much it actually changed how I felt about wearing it. It sounds small, but having something that looked pretty or more “me” made me feel way more confident. And that made me think that maybe other people with Omnipods might feel the same way too.

So I started Glam Pods.

Now I design and create pod covers that are both practical and comfortable, but also a lot more fun and expressive. Some people love full sparkle and crystals, some prefer something simple and clean, and others like soft colours or something a bit more bold. I want there to be something for everyone, because there’s no one way your pod should look.

For me, Glam Pods is really about confidence. It’s about taking something that you have to wear every day and turning it into something that doesn’t feel like it’s just medical or boring. I don’t think having diabetes should take away from your style or how you express yourself.

I also think it’s important to say that I know what it’s like to actually wear one of these devices every day, so everything I make is designed with that in mind — it has to feel comfortable, not get in the way, and still work with your Omnipod properly.

Glam Pods is still really personal to me. I’m just someone who started this because I wanted something better for myself, and it’s grown into something I never really expected.
